Pathirana’s services were acquired by Colombo Strikers for the 2024 season of LPL. Colombo Strikers secured the services of other promising players as well.

They signed up Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz and also roped in Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed. Pathirana has demonstrated his incredibly fascinating bowling skills in the IPL, playing for Chennai Super Kings.
