Rohit Sharma’s befitting reply to Inzmam-ul-Haq making allegations against Arshdeep Singh

Ball-tampering allegations in cricket have often stirred huge controversies, and recently former Pakistan cricketer Inzmam-ul-Haq accused young Indian bowler Arshdeep Singh of ball-tampering during India’s match against Australia in Super Eight stage of the ongoing T20I World Cup 2024. Inzmam said that Arshdeep was getting huge amount of swing due to having tempered with the ball.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma addressing the press conference ahead of India’s semi-final match against England termed the allegations senseless. Rohit said Arshdeep was getting swing due to the dry nature of the pitch. Arshdeep Singh was successful enough in frustrating Australian batsmen in their chase of 206. He nailed three wickets in the form of retiring David Warner, Tim David and Matthew Wade.

"What answer should I give. Wickets are so dry (here) as you are playing in a sunny weather. All teams are getting reverse (swing). Sometimes, need to open your mind. You need to understand what the conditions are. This is not Australia or England. That's what I will say," said Indian skipper.
