Young batter from Perth Cooper Connoly has been added to Australia’s T20I squad in a surprise inclusion as Australia named their squad for their upcoming tour of the United Kingdom.

The young-looking squad also features batting sensation Jake Fraser-McGurk, who has been incorporated into both T20I and ODI squads. On the back of strong performances in domestic cricket, Cooper Connoly has been included into Australia’s squad.

This will be the finest opportunity for young Jake Fraser-McGurk to seal the opening spot in the wake of David Warner’s retirement from international cricket. Mitchell Marsh will be leading both squads as Test and ODI skipper Pat Cummins has been rested for this tour.

Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell will sit out of T20I before linking up with the team for ODIs against England. Australia will start their tour by playing three T20Is against Scotland. Later, they will clash with England in a three-match T20I series and a five-match ODI series.
