Young Indian allrounder Shivam Dube had found himself in troubled waters at the start of the T20I World Cup 2024 after he failed to live up to the expectations in the early matches. Initially, Dube struggled to find his mojo, but his role in the final against South Africa played a significant role in India’s victory. Dube forged a 57-run partnership alongside Virat Kohli to put India back in the game.

India, batting first, lost early wickets that allowed South Africa put more pressure on India but Dube’s little partnership with Kohli released a lot of pressure off India. Dube thanked Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid for putting faith in him that helped him stay focused.

"The World Cup journey taught me a lot. The final was a crucial moment, and I am glad I could contribute to the team's efforts. Every match in the T20 World Cup was a learning experience, and the support from my teammates and fans kept me motivated. In the end, it's about giving your best for the team and making every opportunity count," Dube told IANS.

Shivam Dube stressed on the fact that support from Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid helped him overcome early challenges. Dube had fired 27 off 16 in that game.

"It was both challenging and motivating. It was a test of my mental strength and perseverance. The unwavering support from our captain and coach was incredible. They constantly backed me, encouraging me to stay positive and keep working hard. Their faith in my abilities and their guidance helped me stay focused and believe in myself. This experience has made me stronger and more determined to improve and contribute to the team's success in the future," said Dube.
