Women’s Asia Cup 2024 semi-final 1: Final spot at stake as India meet Bangladesh

India Women and Bangladesh Women are set to clash in the first semi-final of the Women’s T20I Asia Cup on Friday at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla. This match is set to turn out to be a thriller, as both teams have shown remarkable skill and determination throughout the tournament.

India Women have been in excellent form, sitting atop in the points table in Group A. India Women are unbeaten in the tournament, having won all three games they have played till now. Their powerful batting lineup, led by star players like, Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur, coupled with a formidable bowling attack featuring Deepti Sharma, Arundhati Reddy and Radha Yadav makes them a tough team to beat.

On the other hand, Bangladesh Women have also displayed impressive performances, winning two games and losing one out of their three matches. With key players like Ritu Moni, Rumana Ahmed, Nigar Sultana and Rabeya Khan leading the charge, Bangladesh are capable of giving India a tough fight. Their all-round capabilities and sharp fielding have been crucial in their journey to the semi-finals.

The winner of this high-stakes match will secure a spot in the final, bringing them one step closer to lifting the Women’s Asia Cup trophy. India made it to the semi-final 1 on the back of their victory against Nepal Women, whereas Bangladesh registered a big 114-run win against Malaysia.
