Jonathan Trott to coach Pretoria Capitals at SA20

Former England cricketer Jonathan Trott has been appointed as the new head coach of Pretoria Capitals at the SA20 tournament. Trott will be replacing Graham Ford. Currently, Jonathan Trott is the head coach of Afghanistan cricket team and his tenure as head coach of Afghanistan will be coming to an end at the end of this year and it remains unclear whether he will renew his contract or not.
Trott has been the head coach of Afghanistan since 2022, having brought tremendous transformation into the team with his magnificent skills. Lately, Afghanistan have been in stunning form at global events, outplaying established teams to make their mark. Most recently, Afghanistan played greatly at the T20I World Cup 2024, making it to the semi-final on the back of swashbuckling victories against strong opponents New Zealand and Australia.
Talking about Pretoria Capitals’ campaign during the last edition of the SA20, they registered an unforgettable outing, finishing on the fifth place in the points table with three victories out of 10 games. They suffered six defeats and their one game produced no result.
