Matheesha Pathirana and Dilshan Madushanka ruled out of ODIs against India

In a crushing blow to Sri Lanka ahead of their first ODI against India on Friday, Matheesha Pathirana and Dilshan Madushanka have been ruled out of the ODI series against India due to their respective injuries. Both bowlers are dealing with their injuries that will prevent them from participating in the high-octane series.
This development presents a major challenge for Sri Lanka, as both players are instrumental in their bowling arsenal. Uncapped players Mohamed Shiraz and Eshan Malinga have been brought into the squad as the replacements. Pathirans picked up an injury to his right shoulder while Madushanka suffered a hamstring injury.
Sri Lanka are already reeling from the absence of Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara who both had been ruled out ahead of the T20I series against India.
