South Africa and West Indies are preparing to face off in a two-match Test series, commencing on Wednesday at Queen’s Park Oval with the first game. Both teams are gearing up to make a strong impression, especially West Indies, who aim to rebound from their recent disheartening series defeat against England.

West Indies suffered massive defeats against England across all three games. With this new series giving a new opportunity to West Indies, they will be eying to make their roaring comeback. Kraigg Brathwaite will be leading West Indies, while Temba Bavuma will be captaining South Africa.

South Africa enter the series with a sense of confidence, having remained in fine form in recent times. Major players like Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Keshav Maharaj will be spearheading the bowling attack. On the batting front, the spotlight will be on Aiden Markram, David Bedingham, Tristan Stubbs and Temba Bavuma, all of whom have been in good touch.

West Indies, on the other hand, have a challenging task ahead. Their recent series defeat against England will make it necessary for them to make their comeback. Overall, for West Indies, this series offers an opportunity for redemption. Interestingly, South Africa have never lost a Test series against West Indies and they would hope to maintain this record.

West Indies probable XI: Kraigg Brathwaite (c), Mikyle Louis, Keacy Carty, Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Jason Holder, Joshua Da Silva (wk), Gudakesh Motie, Jayden Seales, Kemar Roach, Jomel Warrican
