India to play additional Pink-ball game in Australia
India are set to face Australia in an additional pink ball game during their tour of Australia later this year. The newly announced game will see India square off against a Prime Minister’s XI under the lights (day-night match) at Manuka Oval, further solidifying India’s familiarity with the pink ball.
The two-day fixture will be played on November 30 and December 1, interpolating in the first and second Test of the high-profile Border-Gavaskar-Trophy.
This fixture will help India acclimatise themselves to Pink ball ahead of the second Test match in Adelaide, which will be a day-night affair. For the first time in about 30 years, both sides will be playing the Border-Gavaskar-Trophy that will consist of five Test matches. The BGT is also significant for both teams as they eye their place in the ICC World Test Championship final next year.
