Bangladesh have emerged with a 16-member squad for their upcoming two-match Test series against Pakistan later this month. The series will be part of the World Test Championship, considering that Bangladesh have announced a strong set of players. Najmul Hossain Shanto will be leading the side amid the availability of top-class players.

Experienced Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das are part of the squad. Taskin Ahmed has also made his return to the side, having played his last game in June 2023. Speaking on the selection, chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain noted that they wanted to pick out best players.

"The emphasis was on picking our best players for this version. This is a well-balanced squad. The likes of Mushfiqur (Rahim), Mominul (Haque) and Shakib (Al Hasan) have played 216 matches combined and there is no substitute for that kind of experience," he said.

Bangladesh Test squad: Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Kumar Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taijul Islam, Nayeem Hasan, Nahid Rana, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, Syed Khaled Ahmed
