Sri Lanka have come out with the schedule for their upcoming Test series against New Zealand next month. The series will feature two Test matches, to be played in Galle. The first Test match will be having a rest day due to a presidential election in the country. First Test match is scheduled to get underway on September 18.

This is for the first time that Sri Lanka have announced a six-day Test in over two decades. The first time Sri Lanka scheduled a sex-day Test was in 2001 against Zimbabwe due to Poya Day (full moon) in the country.

The Test series will be part of the World Test Championship cycle. Currently, Sri Lanka are engaged in a three-match Test series against England, with the first Test being held at Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

1st Test - September 18-23 (Galle)

2nd Test - September 26-30 (Galle)
