Zaheer Khan set to join LSG as mentor
Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan, according to ESPNcricinfo, is set to join Lucknow Super Giants as their mentor for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Zaheer Khan will be coming into a role, which had been lying vacant since Gambhir’s departure in 2023. Zaheer’s role as a mentor will involve guiding and supporting the team's players, drawing on his extensive experience.
However, it remains uncertain whether Zaheer will also take on the role of bowling coach due to the departure of Morne Morkel, who left LSG to join Indian team management as bowling coach. The specifics of his responsibilities are yet to be confirmed. As of now, Justin Langer is the head coach of Lucknow Super Giants. In his IPL career, Zaheer Khan has played 100 matches and taken 100 wickets.
