Dawid Malan retires from international cricket

England batter Dawid Malan has announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to a tremendous career. Malan has featured for England in 62 T20Is, 30 ODIs and 22 Tests, playing a major role with bat. Malan’s last appearance for England came at the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
Since the ODI World Cup, Malan has not featured for England. He is only one of two England players, along with Jos Buttler, to have scored a century across all formats of the game. Recently, Malan was left out of England's squad for the upcoming white-ball series against Australia.
Malan has been a prominent T20I batter as he also became the number one-ranked T20I batter in 2020. He was also the fastest cricketer to notch up 1,000 runs in T20Is with just 24 innings.
