Bangladesh plundered hapless Pakistan to record a six-wicket victory in the second and final Test match on Tuesday in Rawalpindi, wrapping up a maiden Test series sweep over Pakistan. An exquisitely thrilling performance from Bangladesh propelled them to clean sweep the two-match Test series and secure their first-ever Test series victory over Pakistan.

Talking about the overall picture, Pakistan, after being asked to bat, amassed (274) runs in their first innings with Saim Ayub (58), Shan Masood (57) and Salman Ali Agha (54) stepping up with their half-centuries. Bangladesh's bowlers, however, kept the pressure on Pakistan, limiting the host to a modest total. The standout performers in the Bangladesh’s bowling attack included Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taskin Ahmed, whose incisive spells kept Pakistani batters under control.

In response, Bangladesh's batting lineup struggled to deal with Pakistan’s challenging bowling attack led by Khurram Shahzad, who ripped through tourists’ top order by claiming six wickets. However, Litton Das (138 off 228) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (78 off 124) resuscitated Bangladesh’s crumbling innings, putting the pressure back on Pakistan. Bangladesh finally managed to score (262) in their first innings.

In their second innings, Pakistan found themselves under pressure as Bangladesh's bowlers once again excelled, with Hasan Mahmud carrying out his demolition of Pakistan’s batters. Pakistan were again left in tatters as none of their top-order batters could muster substantial scores. Bangladesh’s ferocious bowling attack restricted Pakistan to just (172) runs. This helped Pakistan set Bangladesh a target of (185) runs.

Bangladesh’s chase began on a spectacular note, with openers Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam smacking (40) and (24) respectively. After the departure of openers, Bangladesh maintained same composure and tactics to keep Pakistani bowlers at way. Despite the loss of four wickets, Bangladesh reached the target in rapid time, underscoring their surging form. Overall, Bangladesh’s collective efforts ensured a historic victory for them.
