“You can't take any series lightly”; Rishabh Pant ahead of Bangladesh Tests

Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has highlighted the importance of not underestimating Bangladesh ahead of their two-match Test series later this month. Pant made his return to red-ball cricket, playing the Duleep Trophy. However, his return was not as positive as it was expected, scoring seven runs from 10 balls.

After being on the sidelines for more than two years due to the life-threatening car crash accident in December 2022, Pant will have the opportunity with the upcoming Bangladesh series to strengthen his case for the high-profile Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in November.

India are set to play 10 Test matches in next five months. Their Test series against Bangladesh will be followed by three Tests against New Zealand in October-November before they head to Australia for BGT.

“As the Indian cricket team, we focus solely on our own standards and how we can improve. Regardless of the opposition, we strive to play with the same intensity and give our 100 percent every single day,” Pant told JioCinema in an interaction.

"Pressure will always be there because in international cricket, you can't take any series lightly. The margin between winning and losing is very small, and nowadays, the gap between international teams isn't much either,” he said.

Pant made his comeback to action during the Indian Premier League 2024, leading Delhi Capitals. Later, he played for India at the T20I World Cup 2024.
