India name Test squad for Bangladesh series
India have named their squad for the first Test match of the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh, slated to begin on September 19. In the 16-member squad, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who has made his return to red-ball cricket for the first time since December 2022, has been added to the squad. The first Test match will be played in Chennai.
Uncapped player, Yash Dayal has been included in the side as well. Other player to have been included are KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Axar Patel and Akash Deep. Shreyas Iyer has missed out on his selection. India’s pace attack will be led by Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah, with Mohammed Shami still recovering from a foot surgery.
