After leading the three-match series 1-0, England Women are gearing up for a showdown in the second ODI against Ireland Women, scheduled to be played on Monday at Civil Service Cricket Club, Belfast. Kate Cross played a starring role in England’s victory in the first game, claiming six wickets, and belting (38) unbeaten.
She remained the solid pillar behind England’s victory in the first game. Ireland Women, after deciding to bat, scored (210) before being bowled out in 46.5 overs. Orla Prendergast was the standout performer with the bat, smashing (76) to guide the side to a respectable total.
As England and Ireland head into the second game, which will be crucial from the series' point of view, both sides would hope to keep the upper hand in the game. Ireland would look to bounce back to level the series, while England would be eying the series with the victory in the second game.
