Ben Stokes returns as England name squad for Pakistan tour

England have been supremely boosted by the return of their skipper Ben Stokes for their upcoming tour of Pakistan for a three-match Test series in October. England have named a 17-player squad for their Test assignment against Pakistan, with Ben Stokes set to lead the side. 

Recently, Ben Stokes missed England’s Test series against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring injury suffered during The Hundred tournament. In Stokes’ absence, Olli Pope led England in the Test series against Sri Lanka. Opener Zak Crawley has also made his return to the side as he continues to recover from a fractured finger. 

Uncapped players Brydon Carse and Jordan Cox have been placed into England’s experienced squad. Josh Hull, who made his Test debut in the final Test against Sri Lanka, has made the cut for Pakistan tour. The first Test of the three will start on October 7 in Multan.

England Test squad: Ben Stokes (c), Rehan Ahmed, Gus Atkinson, Shoaib Bashir, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Jordan Cox, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Josh Hull, Jack Leach, Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Joe Root, Jamie Smith, Olly Stone, Chris Woakes.
