“You’ve had more altercations than I have”: Gambhir’s amusing response to Kohli

There have been incredibly fiery rivalries in the world of cricket but the on-field altercation between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli has captured the spotlight. The tension between both came to the fore during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 where both were embroiled in a heated exchange of words on the field.
Fast forward to the present, Gautam Gambhir now serves as India’s head coach and the transition in his career also marks the beginning of his cordial relationship with Virat Kohli. The bonhomie between both Gambhir and Kohli has been evident, with both seen sharing light-hearted moments during India’s practice session.
In an interview snippet shared by BCCI, Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli can be seen having funny moments while cracking jokes. Virat Kohli asked Gautam Gambhir about the zone he goes into whenever he is involved into an altercation with opposition. The response from Gambhir was quite amusing.
Virat Kohli: When you are batting and you have a bit of a chat with the opposition, did you ever feel like this might carry on to you going out of the zone and potentially getting out, or it put you in a more motivated state,"?
Gautam Gambhir: You’ve had more altercations than I have. I think you can answer that question, better than I can."
Virat Kohli (laughing): I am only looking for someone who agrees with what I have to say. I am not saying that it is wrong. At least someone should say, yes this is what happens."
