Women’s T20I World Cup 2024: Sri Lanka name star-studded squad
Sri Lanka’s squad for the upcoming Women’s T20I World Cup 2024 has been named, with left-arm spinner Inoka Ranaweera being named in the side. Chamari Athapaththu will be leading the side amidst the presence of top-notch old stagers such as Harshitha Samarawickrama, Vishmi Gunaratne, Kavisha Dilshari and Nilakshi de Silva.
Sri Lanka recently lifted the Women’s Asia Cup 2024, beating India Women in the final. Inoka Ranaweera was left out of Sri Lanka’s squad for the Asia Cup and she was recently left out of Sri Lanka’s squad for Ireland also. However, Ranaweera has a good record in T20s, having claimed 91 wickets in 82 games. T20I World Cup will begin on October 3 and Sri Lanka will kick off their campaign on the same day by taking on Pakistan in the second match of the tournament.
