The ongoing second and final Test match between India and Bangladesh faced a frustrating day two on Saturday in Kanpur, as persistent rain thwarted any hopes of play. With the weather conditions remaining unfavourable since early morning, umpires were left with no choice but to call it off, marking another disappointing day for both teams.
The second Test already started on a similarly grim note, as day one saw early stumps due to rainfall, limiting the proceedings. On day one, Bangladesh, asked to bat, finished at 107/3, with Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim unbeaten on (40) and (6) respectively. On day two, the entire ground remained under covers.
As the rain continued to fall throughout the day, groundsmen worked diligently to prepare the pitch and outfield, but their efforts were ultimately in vain. The focus now shifts to the potential for play on day three as both teams will look forward to having a great day.
