CSK chasing Rishabh Pant amid reports of DC parting ways with star

As the countdown to the IPL 2025 mega auction nears, the franchises are leaving no stone unturned in their planning to secure the services of high-profile players. Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, as per reports, finds himself on the auction block after not being retained by Delhi Capital. This decision opens the door for various franchises to explore his potential as a valuable asset. According to reports, the talks between Rishabh Pant and Delhi Capitals failed to yield any positive result.
According to a report from Indian Express, CSK are considering to bid for Pant’s services in order to find a fitting successor to MS Dhoni. CSK are setting their sights on acquiring Rishabh Pant, the dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman, who has been a vital asset for Delhi Capitals over the years. Pant's explosive batting style and match-winning capabilities make him a coveted player in T20 cricket. However, his acquisition would require CSK to take significant risks, both in terms of financial commitment and potential team restructuring.
As per reports, CSK are considering to release all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and then using Right to Match (RTM) card to buy him. A stunt they have successfully used in the past with Dwayne Bravo and Far du Plessis. Reportedly, CSK are certain to retain skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, fast-bowler Matheesha Pathirana, and legendary MS Dhoni.
