Having been on the sidelines for last one year, Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami is set to return to competitive cricket after being included into Bangal’s squad for their next Ranji game, beginning November 13. Shami was last seen in action at the ODI World Cup final against Australia in Ahmedabad last year in November.

He suffered an ankle injury for which he underwent surgery on his right foot earlier this year in March. In the last six months, the Indian speedster has gone through intense rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to get himself ready for action.

He will be seen in action for Bengal when they square off against Madhya Pradesh in Indore. Due to fitness issues, Shami also failed to make the cut into India’s squad for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, starting November 22. However, all eyes will be on Shami as he still has enough chances to play a crucial role for India in the BGT.

Bengal squad: Anustup Majumdar, Wriddhiman Saha, Sudip Chatterjee, Sudip Gharami, Shahbaz Ahmed, Shakir Habib Gandhi, Pradipta Pramanik, Writtick Chatterjee, Avilin Ghosh, Shuvam Dey, Aamir Gani, Ishan Porel, Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal, Mohammed Kaif, Rohit Kumar, Rishav Vivek, Mohammed Shami
