The excitement surrounding the IPL 2025 mega auction is reaching fever pitch as the highly anticipated player auction is set to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah. With a staggering 577 players from around the world putting their names forward, the two-day event will see the franchises secure the services of talented players.
As teams prepare to bolster their squads for the upcoming season, the auction will also see some high-profile names go under the hammer, with bidding wars expected for both experienced players and emerging talent. This is for the second time that IPL auction is being held outside India. The auction will kick off at 1 PM local time, which is 3:30 PM (IST), across both days.
Among the 577 players, 367 are Indians and 210 overseas. All ten teams have a total of 204 slots to fill and 70 of those are for overseas players. Most notably, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant will go under the hammer. Shreyas Iyer is coming off a massive success, leading KKR to title win in the IPL 2024. With 577 players available, the bidding process is expected to be fierce, especially with multiple franchises competing for similar skill sets.
