News

Bangladesh Women will face Ireland Women in the second ODI match of the ongoing three-match series on Saturday at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. With Bangladesh leading the series 1-0 after their impressive 154-run victory in the first ODI, the stakes are high as both teams look to assert themselves and take control of the series.

Bangladesh Women’s performance in the first match of the series was dominant, showcasing their brilliance in all departments of the game. Fargana Hoque and Sharmin Akhter performed in the batting department, scoring 61 and 96 respectively, while Sultana Khatun, Nahida Akhter and Marufa Akter stepped up in the bowling department. Their bowlers proved lethal in the crucial stages of the game. Bangladesh’s all-round show helped them clinch a comfortable victory.

Bangladesh will look to continue their winning momentum and seal the series with a second victory, which would give them an unassailable 2-0 lead, leaving only one match to play.

For Ireland Women, the first ODI was a tough learning experience. They failed drastically in the first game, failing to find momentum at any stage of the game. Ireland Women will need to bounce back strongly in the second ODI if they are to keep their hopes of levelling the series alive.
