Kane Williamson, New Zealand’s former captain, has etched his name into the history books as the first New Zealand batter to complete 9,000 runs in Test cricket. This remarkable achievement came during the ongoing first Test match against England at Hagley Oval, Christchurch. Williamson, who missed the India series due to an injury, has made his superb return to action, further cementing his legacy.

Williamson joins an elite group of cricketers worldwide who have already achieved this feat. Williamson achieved this record in 103 Tests, becoming the third joint-fastest alongside Kumar Sangakkara and Younis Khan.

Australian veteran Steve Smith is the fastest batter to reach this milestone as he did it in 99th Test. In the ongoing first Test against England, Kane Williamson scored 61 and 93 in the first and second innings respectively.
