Gautam Gambhir flies back to Australia

Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir has returned to Australia, rejoining the team ahead of the second Test match against the host nation. Gambhir had briefly returned to India after the first Test, which India won massively, due to personal reasons. During his brief absence, Gambhir had missed India’s two-day tour game against Australian Prime Minister’s XI in Canberra.

The two-day game had been shortened to a limited-overs contest due to poor weather on day one. Following Gambhir's brief absence, the support staff, which includes Abhishek Nayar, Ryan ten Doeschate and Morne Morkel, had overseen the team's training, and the tour game.

The second Test match between both Australia and India will get underway on December 6 in Adelaide. Recently, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also joined the side after missing the first Test due to the birth of his second child. Jasprit Bumrah had led India in Rohit’s absence.
