Australia to play three Tests on their tour of West Indies
Australia’s upcoming tour of West Indies will see an expanded cricket series, with both the Australian and West Indies cricket boards agreeing to add an extra Test match to the original schedule. The series, originally set to feature just two Tests, will now consist of three thrilling encounters between the two fierce rivals.
It will be the first time since 2015 that both sides will be playing three Tests or more. Both sides last faced each other earlier this year for a two-match Test series in Australia, which ended 1-1.The last time Australia visited Caribbean for Tests was in 2012. That time, they swept the two-match series 2-0.
The series will also mark the beginning of the next cycle of the World Test Championship for both sides, which requires a minimum of two Tests. Cricket Australia chief executive Nick Hockley confirmed the development and they are waiting for confirmation from the West Indies Cricket Board.
