News

Australia Women and England Women are preparing to face each other in the first T20I of a three-match series, set to take place on Monday at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney. The series comes on the heels of a dominant display by the Australians, who swept the preceding ODI series 3-0.

Australia enter the T20I series brimming with confidence. Star players such as Ashleigh Gardner, Tahlia McGrath, Beth Mooney and Ellyse Perry have been in scintillating form, providing both stability and fireworks across all three games.

The Australian bowling unit, led by Megan Schutt and Kim Garth, has consistently delivered breakthroughs, keeping England's batters under pressure.

For England, the T20I series represents an opportunity for redemption. Despite losing the ODI series, England can still win back the Ashes if they outplay Australia in T20Is and the remaining One-Off Test. During the ODIs, England showed brilliance, but failed to seize the key moments. England’s captain Heather Knight will be eager to inspire her team to bounce back. A strong start in the first T20I will be crucial to rebuilding confidence and challenging Australia’s dominance.

Australia Probable XI: Phoebe Litchfield, Alyssa Healy (c & wk), Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney, Annabel Sutherland, Ashleigh Gardner, Tahlia McGrath, Alana King, Kim Garth, Megan Schutt, Darcie Brown

England Probable XI: Bess Heath, Maia Bouchier, Heather Knight (c), Nat Sciver-Brunt, Danielle Wyatt-Hodge, Amy Jones (wk), Alice Capsey, Charlotte Dean, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, Lauren Bell
