Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli, according to reports, has confirmed his availability to play the Ranji Trophy. Kohli will make his appearance in Delhi’s last round of group-phase matches, starting January 30. Delhi’s last Ranji Trophy league match will be against Railways. Kohli wasn’t in Delhi’s squad for the penultimate round of group-phase matches, starting January 23 against Saurastra. He missed out due to neck pain and he had already informed BCCI about his unavailability.

This will mark Kohli’s return to the first-class cricket for the first time in twelve years. Kohli has played 23 Ranji Trophy matches for Delhi, bringing up 1574 runs at an average of 50.77.

He has also scored five centuries. Recently, BCCI also issued new guidelines for the contracted players, making it mandatory to participate in domestic tournament. Virat Kohli last played in domestic tournament in November 2012, when he represented Delhi against Uttar Pradesh.
