Rishabh Pant reveals captaincy lesson he’s learned from Rohit Sharma

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was on Monday named the new skipper of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Pant had been snapped up by LSG for an eye-popping amount of INR 27 crore at the mega auction. Following his appointment as skipper, Pant shared captaincy lessons he has learnt from all captains and senior players.
"I've learnt from a lot of captains, a lot of my seniors. I feel you just don't have to learn just from the captain, but there are also a lot of seniors who know a lot about the game and the way the game is going forward," Pant said during the media interaction after being unveiled as LSG skipper.
Pant also revealed one lesson he has learned from Indian Test and ODI skipper Rohit Sharma.
“Rohit bhai (Rohit Sharma) is one. With Rohit bhai, you learn how to care for a player," Pant said.
"I feel the same when I captain a side. If you give confidence and trust to a player, he will do unimaginable things for you and the team. And that is the ideology we’d like to have. We'll back the players, give them trust, and have clear communication," Pant added.
