India have stormed into the final of the ongoing Champions Trophy after an impressive four-wicket win over Australia in the semi-final 1 on Tuesday in Dubai . Chasing a total of 264, India completed the task with 11 balls to spare, booking their place in the final showdown of the tournament. Virat Kohli again led India’s chase, making a big difference with his crucial 84-run knock. Down the order, Pandya blazed some late fours and sixes to ensure India’s victory.

India’s chase didn’t start as expected, as they lost key wickets early on. Both Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill fell quickly, putting India in a precarious position. However, the setback seemed to galvanise India, and India’s chase master Virat Kohli stepped up with an innings that put India on the path of victory. Kohli’s calm and composed 84 not only steadied the ship but also gave India the momentum they needed to stay on track for the chase.

Shreyas Iyer provided excellent support to Kohli, contributing a crucial 45 runs. The pair put together a steady partnership, ensuring India’s recovery. Iyer’s intelligent batting helped India move closer to the target. Hardik Pandya’s explosive cameo also played a key role down the order. Coming in at a crucial juncture, Pandya belted 28 off 24, including one boundary and three sixes, providing the necessary thrust to the chase. His cameo helped reduce the margin of error. KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 42 off 34 at the other end, playing a composed knock to take India over the line.

Earlier, Australia winning the toss and deciding to bat, posted a competitive total of 264, thanks to solid contributions from Steve Smith and Alex Carey. Smith was the backbone of the Australian innings, plundering a gritty 73-run knock. He was well supported by Carey, who chipped in with 61 runs off 57. Australia’s top-order, meanwhile, failed to provide a decent start, with Cooper Connolly ,Josh Inglis and Glenn Maxwell losing their wickets for low scores.
