As the ongoing Women’s Premier League nears its climax, Gujarat Giants Women and Mumbai Indians Women are gearing up for a crucial face-off in the Eliminator on Thursday at Brabourne Stadium, which promises to be a nail-biting encounter with everything on the line. The winner of this clash will have the opportunity to progress to the final, where Delhi Capitals Women are already waiting after securing their spot.

Both sides find themselves in the Eliminator after narrowly missing out on direct qualification for the final. The eliminator clash is a do-or-die situation for both teams. Gujarat Giants have had a mixed season but managed to pull off some spectacular performances to reach this stage. With a well-balanced lineup of experienced and promising young talent, Giants will be hoping to capitalise on their strengths.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indians Women have had an unimpressive season, failing to live up to the expectations. They lost their last league game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Moreover, they have been playing non-stop cricket at the end of the tournament and the eliminator on Thursday will be their third game in four days. Both Gujarat and Mumbai faced off on Monday during the group stage match, where Mumbai Indians won by 9 runs. Interestingly, Giants have never beaten Mumbai and women in blue have an excellent 6-0 record against Giants.

The clash between the two sides will be packed with intensity. Both teams know that the stakes couldn't be higher, and they will leave no stone unturned to claim victory. For Giants, their middle-order will be a crucial factor. Players like Kashvee Gautam, Harleen Deol, Deandra Dottin, Ashleigh Gardner and Phoebe Lichfield will be expected to lead from the front. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians will be banking on their all-rounders and bowlers to make the difference.

Gujarat Giants probable XI: Beth Mooney (wk), Kashvee Gautam, Harleen Deol, Ashleigh Gardner (c), Phoebe Lichfield, Deandra Dottin, Bharti Fulmali, Simran Shaikh, Tanuja Kanwar, Meghna Singh, Priya Mishra

Mumbai Indians probable XI: Hayley Matthews, Amelia Kerr, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Amanjot Kaur, Yastika Bhatia (wk), G Kamalini, S Sajana, Sanskriti Gupta, Shabnim Ismail, Parunika Sisodia
