What happens if IPL 2025 season opener between KKR and RCB gets washed out?

The opening match of the Indian Premier League 2025 season, featuring Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Saturday at Eden Gardens, is currently under constant threat of being washed out due to inclement weather conditions. The much-anticipated showdown between the two teams is facing an uncertain future as heavy rain showers are forecasted in the region.
These weather conditions could lead to delays or, in the worst-case scenario, a complete washout of the match. Talking about the teams, both sides are loaded with a galaxy of talented players, looking ahead for a blazing start. For the first time, since they played the first game of the tournament back in 2008, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will kick off the season.
RCB are in search of their maiden IPL title that has eluded them since the start of the lucrative league. On the other hand, KKR will hope to successfully defend their title. Meanwhile, if the match gets washed out then both sides will be handed one point each.
