Uncertainty prevails over KL Rahul’s availability for DC’s clash against LSG

KL Rahul is getting ready to don a new IPL jersey as DC prepare to take on LSG on Monday at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. KL Rahul, who led LSG in the past two seasons, will play for DC after being bought by the franchise for INR 14 crore.
However, there remains a huge uncertainty over KL Rahul’s availability for DC’s season-opening clash against Lucknow Super Giants due to personal reasons. Notably, Rahul is expecting his first child with wife Athiya Shetty. Even, DC skipper Axar Patel expressed that there was no clarity surrounding Rahul’s availability for the match against LSG.
"Obviously, he joined the team. We do not know yet [if he will play]. Right now we do not know if he is available or not," Axar said during a press conference as quoted by ESPNCricinfo.
On the other hand, Rishabh Pant, who had been associated with DC for long, will lead Lucknow Super Giants after the franchise bought him for a whopping amount of INR 27 crore, emerging as the most expensive player in the history of IPL.
