IPL 2025: Hasaranga, Nitish Rana inspire RR to their first win of the season

Rajasthan Royals emerged victorious against Chennai Super Kings by 6 runs in the 11th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League on Sunday in Guwahati. Defending a target of 183, Rajasthan Royals limited CSK to just 176/6 in 20 overs.
The match witnessed some terrific performances, particularly with the ball. Wanindu Hasaranga was the standout performer for RR, producing a brilliant bowling display. The Sri Lankan leg-spinner took 4 crucial wickets, stifling CSK's chase and ensuring Rajasthan’s much-needed win.
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals, after being asked to bat, put up a competitive total of 182/9 in 20 overs. The innings was largely built around a scintillating knock from Nitish Rana. He played a match-defining 81-run innings, displaying his power-hitting abilities. His knock included ten boundaries and five sixes that helped RR reach a competitive total, despite some middle-order collapses.
Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings’ chase got off to a rocky start, with Rachin Ravindra losing his wicket for (0). They quickly found themselves under pressure. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was the only CSK batter to rise to the occasion, playing an outstanding knock of 63 runs. His brilliance provided some hope for CSK, but his lone fight was not enough to propel the team to victory.
