IPL 2025: CSK seek revival as they meet despondent Punjab

News

Wounded Chennai Super Kings are set to face off against Punjab Kings in an exciting evening match of the ongoing IPL on Tuesday at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh. Chennai Super Kings find themselves in a slump after suffering three consecutive defeats, while Punjab Kings have had a roller-coaster start, winning their opening two matches, but their last match against Rajasthan Royals ended in loss.

Having faced a plethora of challenges, CSK are in urgent need of a turnaround. They kicked off their campaign with a thumping victory but haven’t been able to claim a victory since then. Their recent performances have been disappointing, with both batting and bowling departments failing to deliver. Adding to the worry is the form of Rahul Tripathi and Deepak Hooda, who haven’t been up to the task so far. CSK have mostly relied on skipper Gaikwad and other overseas players. Heading into this match, they will be hoping for an improved performance in order to return to winning ways.

On the other hand, Punjab Kings started their campaign on a high note, securing back-to-back victories. The team looked solid in the early stages, with both their batting and bowling departments firing on all cylinders. However, their recent defeat in the last match would compel them to think deep and come back stronger.
