In a gripping showdown, Lucknow Super Giants emerged victorious over Kolkata Knight Riders, pulling off a tense 4-run win on Tuesday at Eden Gardens. Defending a formidable total of 238, LSG restricted KKR to 234/7 in 20 overs, thanks to some suffocating bowling from LSG bowlers.

Earlier, after being asked to bat, LSG openers quickly set the tone for a high-scoring match, with Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran being the standout performers with the bat. Both produced aggressive and skillful innings. Marsh hammered 81 runs, while Pooran’s blistering unbeaten knock of 87 was crucial in powering LSG to an impressive total. Aiden Markram also contributed significantly to the innings, scoring a vital 47 runs to power the side to 238/3 in 20 overs.

Meanwhile, in their chase of 239, KKR started their chase promisingly but fell short of the target. There were, however, best efforts from skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh Iyer, who both delivered notable contributions with the bat; still, KKR fell 5 runs short of the target. Ajinkya played a responsible knock, accumulating 61 runs, while Iyer added 45 runs. Their efforts kept the side in chase, but the lower order was unable to provide the necessary support.
