IPL 2025: GT outshine Rajasthan in pulsating showdown

In a pulsating showdown on Wednesday in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans stormed to a dominant 58-run victory over Rajasthan Royals, displaying their explosive batting and bowling prowess. With Sai Sudharsan leading the charge with the bat, cracking 82 off 53, Titans amassed a massive total of 217/6 in their 20 overs after being put in to bat.

Sudharsan’s innings, coupled with vital contributions from Jos Buttler and Shahrukh Khan, ensured that Titans were in the driver’s seat throughout the innings. Both Buttler and Khan scored 36 runs each, providing the much-needed support in the middle overs.

In reply, Rajasthan Royals faced an uphill task from the start. They got off to a poor beginning as experienced batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for a mere 6 off 7 balls, leaving the team under immediate pressure. The loss of Jaiswal early on only added to the mounting challenges for Rajasthan.

Skipper Samson and Shimron Hetmyer however, fought hard in the middle order, scoring 41 and 52 runs respectively, and attempted to keep the chase alive with their steady knocks. Their efforts, though, were not enough to bridge the gap, as wickets continued to tumble around them. With no other batter able to make an impact, RR were bowled out for 159 in 19.2 overs. For Titans, Prasidh Krishna took three wickets. While, Sai Kishore and Rashid Khan claimed two wickets each.
