Former Indian batter Srikkanth lashes out at CSK

CSK’s campaign at the ongoing Indian Premier League has been a tale of underperformance as they crashed to their fifth consecutive defeat on Friday in Chennai. Their latest setback came against KKR, where they were handed an eight-wicket defeat, effectively putting their hopes of advancing to the playoffs in jeopardy. Their batting lineup has faltered repeatedly. And their bowling has not been up to the standards. These collapses have highlighted significant issues with both their batting and bowling departments.

Following CSK’s disappointing performance, former Indian cricketer Kris Srikkanth hit out at CSK for failing so badly. He even suggested that CSK could look at unsold players, like Prithvi Shaw, to cement their squad.

“One of CSK's worst defeats ever. Powerplay batting looked like a rehearsal for a test match. Whole XI feels like it's running on nostalgia. Time to think out of the box, why not try some unsold players like Prithvi Shaw at this point? Would you try it? even chaos is a strategy?” Srikkanth wrote on X.

Inserted to bat, CSK were rolled for 103 by KKR, with Sunil Narine taking three wickets. He even performed well in the batting department, scoring 44 off 18 to guide the side over the line.
