IPL 2025: Out of sorts CSK face well-rounded LSG

News

Lucknow Super Giants will host Chennai Super Kings in a pivotal IPL clash at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday. The match is set to be highly competitive with LSG riding high on a three-match winning streak, while CSK are grappling with an unprecedented five consecutive defeats.

LSG have found their rhythm in recent matches, securing victories that have propelled them into the upper echelons of the IPL standings. Their most recent triumph against Gujarat Titans was incredibly thumping, with bowlers and batters performing in tandem.

Key players like Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran have been instrumental in their success, providing both stability and firepower to the team’s batting. However, skipper Rishabh Pant’s form has been a matter of concern for LSG as he has only been able to gather 40 runs across four innings. Nonetheless, with a fiery bowling attack and growing confidence, LSG will look to extend their winning streak.

In stark contrast, CSK have been enduring their worst run in IPL history, having lost five consecutive matches. The five-time champions have struggled to overcome challenges. Even the return of MS Dhoni at the helm couldn’t change the team’s fortunes. The ship is sinking as CSK look to bounce back and regain their winning momentum. It will be really significant for CSK to break their losing run and return to winning times.
