When both LSG and DC last faced off against each other almost a month ago, the latter had emerged victorious, downing the former by 1 wicket, thanks to a heroic knock from Ashutosh Sharma, who blitzed 66 runs off 31 deliveries to take the side over the line. And now, once again, DC and LSG are getting ready to take on each other in the 40th match of the Indian Premier League, scheduled to be played on Thursday at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

Since their first meeting, things have changed now, with both sides carrying contrasting fortunes. DC are placed second in the points table with five victories from seven games, whereas LSG are sitting at fifth place with five victories from eight games.

Interestingly, DC are coming off a defeat, and LSG are fresh off a thrilling victory in their last game against Rajasthan Royals, with Avesh Khan turning the match on its head with his suffocating 20th over and helping the side clinch a narrow 2-run victory. Heading into this game, both teams would aim for a victory to further consolidate their position in the tournament.
