“A different KL Rahul this season”: Cheteshwar Pujara

Indian veteran batter Cheteshwar Pujara has lavished high praise on Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, who has enjoyed a productive start in the IPL 2025, amassing 323 runs in just seven matches. KL Rahul played another excellent knock on Tuesday, leading his side (Delhi Capitals) to an impressive 39-run win over his former franchise, Lucknow Super Giants. He crafted an unbeaten 57 to help DC chase down LSG’s total of 159 with 13 balls to spare. Meanwhile, Pujara applauded Rahul for not carrying any baggage from the past.
“Just move on, don't carry any baggage from the past. And that's a good thing. KL is a mature player. Last couple of years, he's been batting well across formats. He doesn't want to think about the past and just wants to enjoy his batting and be in his zone,” Pujara said on ESPNcricinfo's TimeOut.
KL Rahul, who captained LSG for three seasons, parted ways with the franchise last year, and Pujara felt that it has helped Rahul reclaim his form.
"It's good to move on, which will also help him play well for DC and even for the Indian team. Because, lately, he is someone the India team also relies on, the way he's batting. Even as a person, he looks a lot more mature now, he understands his game very well. We have seen a different KL Rahul this season. When he started [against LSG], he didn't look that [fluid], but still he picked it up."
