“Every time if you take out the individual”: Rishabh Pant’s reply on his performance

Lucknow Super Giants fell to a 54-run defeat against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, recording their fifth defeat of the tournament. Amid LSG’s dwindling fortunes, the poor form of skipper Rishabh Pant has also come under the scanner. Pant only has been able to accumulate 110 runs in nine innings, and against Mumbai Indians, he managed 4 off 2 balls before losing his wicket to Will Jacks. Speaking on his form, Pant stated that it’s not good to single out one individual every time.
"See [I am] keeping it very simple. Not thinking about that [his form] too much because in a season like this, where things are not going your way, you're going to start questioning yourself as a player, and that is something you don't want to do,” Pant said after the match.
"When the team isn't doing well, you've got to think about that because eventually it's a team game. Yes, one player definitely makes a difference, but every time if you take out the individual, it's not the right thing to do, I guess,” he said.
Speaking on the toss, Rishabh Pant, who had decided to bowl after winning the toss, said that the intention behind opting to bowl first was to give the bowlers the best conditions.
“We feel as a team it was the right decision for us, because most of the time we back our batting. We want to give the bowlers the best conditions, but today was not our day. The other team is also playing good cricket, and you have to give them credit instead of questioning ourselves. But we can figure it out because we have a break at the right time,” Pant noted.
