Prabhsimran Singh, bowlers star in Punjab’s clinical win over LSG

Punjab Kings registered a thumping 37-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants in a high-scoring clash in Dharamshala on Sunday, thanks to a blistering knock of 91 by in-form Prabhsimran Singh. The win was set up with both bat and ball, as Punjab’s bowlers backed up a formidable batting performance with disciplined spells that kept LSG at bay.
Inserted to bat, PBKS posted a mammoth total, riding on Prabhsimran’s powerful innings that came at a crucial time. His 91 formed the backbone of Punjab’s innings, supported by solid contributions from Josh Inglis (30) and Shreyas Iyer (45), who both showed their batting abilities at the right time to guide the side to a monumental total.
Meanwhile, chasing the target, LSG crumbled early. Their chase got off to a disastrous start with key batters Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran falling cheaply. The early blows derailed their run chase and left them reeling, with the top order failing to provide any foundation.
Although Ayush Badoni (74) and Abdul Samad (45) showed some resistance and tried to stabilise the innings, the damage had already been done. Punjab’s high-octane bowling restricted LSG to 199/7 in 20 overs.
