In a heartbreaking moment for Sunrisers Hyderabad, their hopes of making it to the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs were washed away after their crucial match against Delhi Capitals on Monday in Hyderabad was abandoned due to relentless rain. SRH endured elimination after the game ended with no result. They have become the third team to be eliminated from the tournament.

Earlier, Delhi Capitals, after being asked to bat, managed a modest total of 133 for 7 in 20 overs. The innings was a cautious one, with wickets falling at regular intervals. However, Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma were the standout performers for the DC, scoring 41 each to lead the recovery amid the tumbling wickets. For SRH, Pat Cummins took three wickets, while Jaydev Unadkat, Harshal Patel and Eshan Malinga took one wicket each.

For SRH, it was a golden opportunity to secure a much-needed win to stay in contention for the playoffs. However, persistent showers halted play before the second innings could begin.
