Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma has announced his retirement from Test cricket, bringing an end to an illustrious career spanning over a decade. However, he will continue to represent India in ODIs.

"Hello everyone I would just like to share that I am retiring from Test cricket. It's been an absolute honour to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all the love and support over the years. I will continue to represent India in the ODI format," Rohit stated on Instagram.

Over his 11-year career, Rohit amassed 4302 runs in 67 Tests, including 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries. Rohit's retirement, meanwhile, comes ahead of India's upcoming tour of England, where they will play five Tests. He also led India in 24 Tests after taking over the captaincy of Team India from Virat Kohli in 2022. The decorated batter last featured for India in the fourth Test against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which they lost by 184 runs.
