Mitchell Starc unavailable for remainder of IPL 2025

Australian pacer Mitchell Starc has decided against flying back to India to rejoin Delhi Capitals for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The high-profile tournament, which was paused for a week due to India-Pakistan tensions, is set to resume on May 17.
According to Australian Associated Press, Starc, who featured for Delhi Capitals in their match against Punjab Kings on May 8, which was abandoned due to rising conflict, has told the franchise that he will not be rejoining the side for the remainder of the tournament. It is a big setback for DC in their chances of making the playoffs. Starc is DC's highest wicket-taker with 14 wickets in 11 matches. And his absence will hit DC’s bowling unit hard.
He was snapped up by the Capitals for INR 11.75 crore at the IPL 2025 auction. Recently, DC opener Jake Fraser-McGurk also pulled out of the remainder of IPL 2025 due to personal reasons.
