IPL 2025: Rain threatens RCB vs KKR clash in Bengaluru

Saturday, 17-May-2025
News

The resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on May 17 is facing a significant hurdle as heavy rain is forecast for Bengaluru on Saturday. The match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders is scheduled to take place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, but adverse weather conditions could ruin the game's outcome and KKR’s tournament prospects.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain in the evening that could severely affect the outcome of the game. If the rain persists and the match is called off, KKR will be eliminated from the tournament. Currently they have 11 points, with two games to go. If points are shared, they can only reach a maximum of 14 points, which won’t be enough to carry them into the playoffs. Meanwhile, the IPL is set to resume after being suspended for a week due to India-Pakistan conflict.
