KKR’s IPL 2025 journey ends, with rain having last laugh

Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders’ aspirations for an IPL playoffs berth were dashed under the persistent rain in Bengaluru, as their crucial match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru was abandoned without a ball being bowled on Saturday. It was the most consequential game for KKR to stay alive in the playoffs race, but rain did not allow them to remain alive in the tournament.
The relentless downpour at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium rendered the pitch and outfield unplayable, leading to the game's cancellation. This result left KKR with no chance of advancing to the playoffs, marking a disappointing end to their IPL 2025 campaign.
